McAllen, TX – Valley Land Title Co., a Valley institution since 1919, announces the induction of Paul R. Rodriguez, CEO/President, on June 13, 2017 to the 2017-2018 Texas Land Title Association Board at its annual conference held in New Orleans, LA. Mr. Rodriguez has an extensive history in the Valley banking and title industry as well as previously serving on the Affordable Homes of South Texas and Sharyland ISD boards and currently serves as trustee of South Texas College.
TLTA is a statewide trade association representing the Texas title insurance industry and currently serving over 13,000 professionals involved in the safe and efficient transfer of real estate. With active members in every Texas county, TLTA membership comprises over 90 percent of all title insurance agents and underwriters licensed to do business in Texas.
VLTC is always looking for ways to innovate our day-to-day operations. This group of employees submitted ideas on how our company could best reduce paper usage throughout each of our offices and were each awarded cash for their great ideas! Special recognition goes out to Senior Escrow Officer Janie Marquez (McAllen Office) who received a WOW Award at our Quarterly TEAM meeting on Friday, May 5, 2017! A WOW Award is awarded to an employee who exemplifies above-and-beyond work ethic towards providing our customers and partners with exceptional customer service in the previous months.

On Saturday, April 22 VLTC participated at the Cynthia Jean Salinas (CJS) Memorial Scholarship Fund 5k Run/Walk for Domestic Abuse Awareness at the Edinburg Municipal Park. VLTC then, on Saturday, April 29, participated in Walk a Mile in Her Shoes 5k Run/Walk benefiting Mujeres Unidas, a local non-profit providing shelter and support services to victims of domestic violence and survivors of sexual assault. Thank you to those that participated in these 5k run/walks to support two great local non-profit organizations in our community!

On Thursday, April 20, 2017, Valley Land Title Co. hosted a Cyber Crime seminar at the Lone Star National Bank Corporate Office. Cynthia Howell, a Texas Underwriting Counsel at First American Title with over 10 years title/escrow, presented a course for 1 hour CE Credit discussing topics regarding the current state of Cybercrime, tips on keeping systems secure and avoiding hacks from Hackers posing as Real Estate Agents, tips to arm clients against falling victim to various forms of wire fraud, and different schemes circulating within the industry. We will announce any additional events for CE Credit like this one on our Facebook (@valleylandtitleco) and Website.
Valley Land Title Co. celebrated its 11th Annual Spring Fiesta at our Corporate Office location on North 10th in McAllen. VLTC Staff was proud to serve over 400 customers with local Mexican food and desserts, drinks, and live music. Customers were able to take a picture at our photo booth with festive props and attire to take home with them as a memorable keepsake – take a look at some of the photos that were posted on our Facebook page. Thank you to all our wonderful customers, who were able to attend and be a part of the festivities, as well to VLTC’s hard-working Festival Planning Committee members who helped set-up and tear-down the event. You all are what made our 11th Annual Spring Fiesta a continual success!
Valley Land Title Co. staff attended the Women’s Council of Realtors (WCR) March Business Resource Meeting on Wednesday, March 15 at the McAllen Country Club where VLTC was recognized as Affiliate of the Month. Paul Rodriguez, CEO led the group in invocation before Keynote Speaker Keith Patridge, President and CEO of McAllen Economic Development Corporation and McAllen Foreign Trade Zone spoke on a topic regarding the “Economic Development on the Border in the Trump Administration” to 75 attendees. The presentation provided a fresh perspective on how the Rio Grande Valley and the economy across the border will be impacted during the current administration.
On Friday, February 24, 2017, approximately 60 Realtors, Attorneys, and CPAs attended a 1031 Exchanges seminar hosted by Valley Land Title Co. at Lone Star National Bank Corporate Office. VP of Investment Property Exchange Services, Inc. (IPX1031®) Carl Pikus presented a course for 1 hour CE Credit discussing topics such as types of 1031 exchanges, rules and timelines required for a successful exchange, potential short and long term tax benefits, and types of properties you can exchange – Carl’s extensive background in real estate financial planning enables him to strategically offer customized comprehensive 1031 solutions. VLTC plans to host additional events like this for CE credit in the coming future.
