Valley Land Title Co. initiated the “Heart of a Child” project to collect unwrapped toys for underprivileged children and partnered with CASA of Hidalgo County, Inc. VLTC employees donated over 100 toys in honor of long time VLTC employee, Laura Mesquita, who has volunteered as a CASA advocate for 7 years. “We wanted to help make a difference and create a wonderful memory in a child’s life,” commented Susan Valdez, VLTC Director of Administration. CASA of Hidalgo serves over 1,000 children in foster care and VLTC wanted to do their part in ensuring that each child receives acknowledgement in their accomplishments, birthdays and holidays. The Mission of CASA is to speak for the best interests of the children in the courts by promoting and supporting quality volunteer representation to provide each child a safe, permanent and nurturing home.
